Basin Cleaning

Side Stream Protection

Cool payback leads to hot opportunity
A 20% increase in cooling capacity and a $40,000 annual energy savings encouraged the Aberhart Hospital in Edmonton, Canada to apply LAKOS Separators to their heating loop systems. In the first 8 hours of operation, the LAKOS System removed over 50 lbs. of iron oxide & debris.
No dirt or downtime in the desert
Computer chip manufacturer VLSI Technologies experienced routine system shutdowns for cleaning its four 45 x 20 foot remote tower sumps in San Antonio, Texas before the installation of LAKOS TC Systems. After 15 months of operation, they drained one basin and couldn't find 1 quart of dirt in the entire basin.
Separator eliminates strainer maintenance
To end the problem of extremely high strainer maintenance, a large communications company in Washington, D.C. retrofit a LAKOS Separator into their building's cooling tower system and has just about eliminated the need for the strainer. In the first year of operation with the separator, the cooling tower's strainer was pulled twice, but only because they thought it would need cleaning. In both cases, however, they found the strainer remarkably clean . . . enough so to justify only a once-a-year inspection.
