LAKOS Separator Helps Guarantee Efficiency of Water Treatment System

Protecting an ozone reactor and anthracite media filter from fouling with sand, grit and other suspended particles, a LAKOS Separator was chosen by the city of Mont-de-Marsan in France to literally insure proper operation of their water treatment system for artesian well water. The separator is installed on the discharge of a 1,585 U.S. gpm (360 m3/hr) pumping system as the pre-filter to their overall system. Sources report that the water treatment equipment manufacturer actually refused to grant a warranty on the system until the sand and grit was first eliminated from the water. The LAKOS Separator satisfied that requirement unconditionally. Spokesmen for the city are also notably pleased that the separator occupies very little space, and thanks to LAKOS’ Auto Purge System for flushing separated solids, requires no routine maintenance.
